Product Information

  1. Margarita,

Not bad, but I want better – I’m returning it even though it is probably a decent kettle. The ergonomics of the handle (it’s lower than on some other kettles, for example on Hamilton Beach ones) require more force to keep.

  2. Peter,

Good kettle. Some concerns on infuser. – Good value as it actually does heat up quicker than I thought (1100 watts against 1500 watts). However, the stainless steel infuser will change the drink color for tea and some common plants.

  3. Consistently great espresso & cappuccino

Pretty hard to mess up on this machine – Once you get the grind and coffee amount worked out, the consistency of great espresso is truly impressive. The steamer wand is excellent.

  4. PoohBear,

Great kettle for those who love coffee/tea. – Love the look and design. Ease of use. Blue lights on means its heating up. When it turns off at boil the lights go out.

  5. Sally

I would’ve given this machine a full five stars if I had written the review before my first Infuser quit. – I originally had a Breville espresso machine for 3.5 years so when it broke (due to hard water) I immediately went out and bought another looking for the same longevity.

  6. cone

good latte – after using this machine for about a year now, I am pleased. I can make a quick decent latte at 4 A.M. (before work) Paired with the Preciso grinder ,Its a winner.

  7. SEAN D

can’t beat it in this price range. – I LOVE this machine. I use it at least 5 times a day.

  8. Gregory

A terrific espresso “esperience” – Great espresso maker. Have had it more than a year now and it has operated flawlessly.

  9. Robert

Returning first one – I purchased this machine for my wife’s Christmas Present, and while we were impressed with the quality of the shots we were able to pull with it, we were not pleased to find the Extraction.

  10. Michele

good machine with some minor flaws – I am comparing this to the Gaggia classic which is $100.00 less. I like that the Gaggia has commercial portafilters and the reviews are more pro.

  11. Joebone

Great unit for espresso neophytes – We’ve had a succession of cheap espresso machines over the years but abandoned them out of frustration, preferring the convenience of various passive drip systems or french press, and leaving.

  12. KDM

Great machine! – Had a Starbucks Barista for many years. The Breville makes noticeably better espresso shots right out of the box and only got better after I played with it longer.

  13. Great Scott

Great machine at this price point – My wife got this for me as a combination Christmas/birthday present (birthday is early January). My previous machine was a Saeco Via Venezia. This is definitely an upgrade from that.

  14. Daryl

Excellent starter machine – After far too much research, I settled on this machine, and am really happy with it. Since I already had the Smart Grinder Pro, I knew I would go straight to the non pressurized basket, and.

  15. rdmasm

Good machine for beginners who want control – This machine is a good starter for someone who wants to play around with making their own espresso but isn’t an expert. It is also a lot cheaper than a super automatic.

  16. Vanessa,

Very Happy with my Kettle!!!! – I was looking for an electric Kettle because my stove is electric and it takes forever to warm up, I will avoid drinking tea just to not having to boil the water (I don’t like doing it in the.

  17. fragilex

Great little machine – I also own the big brother to this unit — the Breville Dual Boiler (BES900XL) which retails for over twice as much ($1199) — so I thought I’d describe how they compare, pros and cons. I bought.

  18. Mary

So Far We love it! (and some of the reviews make sense) – We chose the Breville because we wanted to ‘upscale’ just a bit without spending $1000. My previous experience was with an old Starbuck’s Barista for 8+ years – it finally died.

  19. SBN

Very nice!! – So I have used a stovetop moka pot and stovetop steamer for decades. And finally the steamer broke.

  20. Dee

I love this machine! – This is my first espresso machine and i was worried that I would be intimidated and that I’d eventually out grow the machine. I’m happy to say that I’m not intimidated.

  21. Ken H

Worth breaking our Espresso Machine budget who needs a double boiler? – Can’t really beat Grace’s review. except to say. we love ours Using it with the Smart Grinder. I am now making good consistent espresso without cheats like the Saeco pressurized porta-filter.

  22. Maddy

I am very happy with the Infuser – There are several reasons I chose this machine. The two big ones that most buyers consider Price and Quality, were important because I wanted to stay under $800 but get a good machine and a.

  23. Margonne,

Good kettle – Great kettle. I really like the strainer both inside the kettle for lose leaf tea and at the spout. The spout filter caught all the loose tiny bits that got free.

  24. QuadShotDecaf

Fast and Flavorful – Having owned numerous espresso machines ( all price ranges) in my 55 years, this machine does not disappoint! It is super easy to use and pulls a great shot. I get my beans ground weeklyI.

  25. Mike Bentley

Awesome value, awesome results – A lot of bang for the buck all of the features plus some as compared to other machines. Breville is not a traditional name in espresso so do not let that put you off.

  26. Tom H

Love this machine – I’ve only had this machine for several days, but I’m already in love with it. I make Capuccino twice a day for myself and my wife and have for about the last 10 years.

  27. Evan H

Better than the Silvia for the price – After my first Infuser kicked the bucket after six or seven years of near-flawless use (honestly, it should have been longer, but I neglected to descale for the latter three of those years),.

  28. Berto

Great for espresso lovers – I finally upgraded my entry espresso maker a few months ago with this one and I am very pleased. I am using pregounded coffee (had to change previous brand) and the dual wall filter works quite.

  29. Newbie

Breville Infuser experience – I have never made espresso before, but love them. I did not like paying $$$ and driving all over to find them. I don’t have a budget for a 1k machine. This Breville is the bee’s knees.

  30. joe

Nice. – I use this machine 3 to 4 times a day for last week, and this is my upgrade to saeco starbuks barista witch i use for last 6 yrs. for $500 this machine is pulling nice shots .

  31. GEGJr

Good Next Step – First some background for you to assess the usefulness of my review. This is my first pump (thermacoil) machine. For the past 3 years I used a combo steam espresso and drip coffee maker.

  32. J L

Another chance for Breville – This machine was purchased to replace a Breville BES860xL, now discontinued by the BES870XL, which I considered. The problem is that while the grinder is still in excellent condition, my 860.

  33. D A

Follow up review after over two years of use – I still highly recommend this machine. I would have given it another half star, but it’s not in the software.

  34. Lerxst

Great starter machine – I’m a recent convert to the cult of espresso. I’ve had my infuser now for three months and use it almost daily.

  35. Wayno

Extremely pleased with the Breville Infuser Espresso Machine. – First, I am delighted that I ordered the Breville Infuser Espresso Machine from Seattle Coffeegear. The product shipped free of charge, was delivered on time and undamaged.

  36. AndyDm,

Very nice tea pot – Hi there The tea pot is quite good overall, spacious enough for an average size family. The removable infuser is also a good feature, even though I don’t use it now.

  37. JP

Better than Gaggia Baby Classic – I have had this machine over two weeks, and I am in love with the machine. It makes great espresso shots as long as I control the tamping pressure and the amount of coffee in the basket.

  38. JPW

Keep up the good work breville – We recently purchased this machine(2 months ago) along with a Sunbeam Cafe Grinder EM0480. The overall build quality and features on the breville are first class.

  39. Soundman

Three years in, it still just works – I got the hang of this machine pretty quickly. I use the double-shot, single-wall basket, so the machine is picky about grind and roast. But Once it’s dialed in, it works wonderfully.

  40. Fuscia,

Great product – I love the shut off mechanism and the ease of clean it up I do not like I have to brew so much tea . I have to put so much water in it for water level to touch the herbs..

  41. Disappointed,

Buyer Beware.. – I was extremely happy with the product -purchased 9/24/18 until the pot started to leak after the 1st month (but it was only a few drops) then it completely spilled all over my counter on the.

  42. JFH

an excellent machine. – I’ve had this machine a few weeks now, it was an upgrade from a Saeco that had become less reliable in producing espresso over strong coffee. I use it to prepare just espresso, and just double.

  43. ValueShopper,

Not as satisfied – Glass is only the side of the kettle; the bottom is steel and the top is steel and plastic. The plastic seems to melt to the water being boiled because it spoils the taste.

  44. anonymoususer,

Looks nice. Slow at cooking. The on/off button can be mistakenly press. Then you put it back on the base it turns on and if you don’t turn it off it keeps on boiling.

  45. Jeffrey

Perfect Choice for noob with budget /Superb value – As a newcomer to the world of espresso, I thought I was being extravagant by originally purchasing the Saeco Via Venezia. I was not at all pleased with that machine after 3 weeks or so.

  46. patrick m

Very happy with our Breville machine – We bought one of these a few months ago. At first, I was confused by the terminology in the manual, mainly about filter baskets.

  47. Brian G

This may be my best machine yet – I bought Breville’s Infuser after my Syntia finally died entirely, however I have good things to say about Saeco’s Syntia as well. I was a little skeptical about going back to an semi Read More.

  48. Lerxst

2.5 years later – Update from my original review in 5/2014. Simply makes great espresso day after day. No mechanical issues at all. When the little light comes on you do a cleaning. Very low maintanence.

  49. RWagner

Love this Breville Coffee Machine – I have owned this Breville Infuser since Aug 2014. I use it with a Smart Grinder and the pressurized filter cup.

  50. EE

Nice Starter Machine – Machine is really well built and has a relatively gentle learning curve. It’s a great machine to learn on. It has only one flaw: The filter baskets are kept in the portafilter by friction (i.e.

  51. LFS

Happy so far – I’ve had the ‘840 for two mornings, here’s what I’ve found: Temp consistency: USA model is 1600 watts, and that is needed. I was so excited to start i filled the tank with ice cold water, and.

The Infuser delivers optimal espresso flavor in every cup. It pre-infuses ground coffee with low, steady water pressure before extraction, gently expanding the grinds before stepping up to high pressure. The result is a more even extraction, which produces balanced espresso flavor.
